Honor 70 Pro and 70 Pro+ unveiled with 54MP main cameras

The Honor 70 series has been unveiled in China. The series comes with three three models, including the vanilla Honor 70, Honor 70 Pro, Honor 70 Pro +. The Honor 70 Pro and Pro+ comes with similar specifications, but have different MediaTek Dimensity chipsets. Meanwhile, the vanilla Honor 70 stands as the affordable version.

All three models feature the 54MP Sony IMX800 camera as main sensor.

Price, availability

The Honor 70 Pro+ retails at CNY 4,300 (around 50,000) for the 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage variant. It also comes with a 12GB of RAM and 256 storage model for CNY 4,600 (around Rs 53,500). The phone is available for pre-order in China and will go on sale on June 16.

The 70 Pro price starts at CNY 3,700 (around Rs 43,000) for 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage variant and the  the 12 RAM + 256GB model at CNY 4,000. It lasso comes in a  12 RAM + 512GB storage model at CNY 4,400. The pre-orders for the phone has already started in China and will be available for sale on June 10.

Honor 70 Pro+

The Honor 70 Pro+ features a 6.78” OLED display on the front uses a 10-bit panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 1,920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. It can display video that uses the “HDR Vivid” format, which was mainly developed by Huawei.

The device is powered by the Dimensity 9000, a flagship 4nm chipset with a Cortex-X2 CPU core (3.05GHz), and a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU, plus a new sub-6GHz 5G modem. It comes paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage.

It features a 54MP Sony IMX800 main camera with an f/1.9 aperture along with a 50MP ultra wide camera, which doubles as a macro camera and an 8MP telephoto module with 3x optical magnification (up to 30x digital) and OIS. At the front, it has a 50MP punch hole camera which has a wide 100° field of view. The camera feature include image stabilization and AI beautification. The Honor 70 series features a Vlog mode, which uses AI and the generous FoV of the cameras to keep you and your subjects in frame.

The phone packs a 4,500mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging. It is claimed to charge 60% oif battery in 15 minutes (up from 50% in the same period on the 60 Pro) and up to 100% in 30 minutes total.

Honor 70 Pro

The Honor 70 Pro has almost the same hardware as the Pro+ including the display, cameras and battery. But, the chipset, storage and price are different.

The Honor Pro is powered by the Dimensity 8000 – a mid-range 5nm chip that uses the older Cortex-A78/A55 CPU cores, but the new Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. This model comes with 512GB storage model. The 256GB storage option is the base version.
