Apple iPhone 15 Pro tipped to feature Action Button in new iOS 17 beta

Apple has leaked some details about the upcoming iPhone 15 series phone- iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Pro Max in the new iOS 17 beta release. The tech giant will reportedly replace the mute switch with an action button on both iPhone 15 Pro models.

This was first spotted by 9to5Mac. The update has also shown enhanced haptic feedback patterns for turning on and off of the Silent Mode. Previously, there was no haptic feedback when deactivating Silent Mode, iOS only provided a simple haptic notification when users activated Silent Mode because users were using a physical switch to silence their phones at that time.

However, the presence of the solid-state Action button with no physical movement might change things. So, to make users aware of the condition of the Silent mode the phone will need to notify users when turning mute both on and off.

These new patterns should make the phone vibrate more noticeably when the user moves between modes on new phones with an Action Button.

Apart from this, the tech giant had indirectly revealed some of the function of the Action button in the fourth beta of iOS 17 to developers last month. , and some new code snippets in it revealed the functions of the Action button.

Some new code snippets of the earlier iOS 17 beta code has also revealed that the Action Button will be customizable with a wide variety of functions including Accessibility, Shortcuts, Silent Mode, Camera, Flashlight, Focus, Magnifier, Translate and Voice Memos.

Moreover, a solid-state button should be more durable than the mute switch. It will be much cleaner with less dirt and grime and increase water resistance.

Earlier, it was rumoured that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro smartphone models will provide high-speed wireless connectivity with the latest Wi-Fi 6E technology.

Meanwhile, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone series smartphones -iPhone 15, iPhone 15 plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max in September.

As per leak reports, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, which could also be called Ultra will feature a titanium chassis, will come with thin bezels, super-fast USB-C ports, and a next-gen 3nm A17 chip, 10x optical zoom lens.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature Dynamic Island design, A16 chip and matching 48-megapixel primary camera. They will be less pricey than the Pro models.
