It has been quite some time since Google had released the developer preview of upcoming Android 12.
However, very less is known about the upcoming Android OS update. Still, the XDA developers have managed to reveal some of the key features and upgrades that the update will offer to its users.
The changes that the Android 12 will offer to its users can be broadly divided into three categories i.e. function changes, design changes and change in privacy.
The Android 12 update provides improvement in scrolling screenshots. The search bar now finds its place in the widget picker while the Google assistant can be called by holding power button.
The update provides new emojis as well as new Wi-Fi and Internet changes. A quick setting tile has been added for Device Controls, Cards and Passes. As for tablets, the update brings dual panel home screen feature.
In terms of design, the update brings new volume panel UI with splash screens for every app. Users also receive new app drawer opening animation, new charging animation. There is also slight tweak to the thicker brightness slider and conversation widget picker.
The ‘reduce brightness’ will be renamed to ‘extra dim’ after the update. Other design changes include new app drawer opening animation and charging animation.
The privacy features include clipboard access prompts, enhanced notification permissions, better location permission dialog, slight tweak to sideloading apps and better media management apps and alarms and reminders permissions.
