Dhenkanal: In a shocking incident, the body of a youth was found under the bridge of Ghumura canal in Kamakhyanagar police limits area of the district today.
According to reports, some onlookers first noticed the body first and informed the police which rushed to the spot.
Police, who recovered the body with grievous injuries on head, identified the deceased youth as Kalindi Pradhan (33) of Alatuma village. Besides, it sent the mortal remains to the hospital for post-mortem.
During their on spot investigation, cops also said to have seized a scooter and a mobile phone from the spot.
Tension prevailed in the area as some irate locals after learning about the incident blocked road by burning tyres. They demanded the arrest of the accused and compensation for the kin of Pradhan.
