Rairangpur: Tension ran high in Jampani village under Gorumahisani police limits in Mayurbhanj district today after a youth hacked his uncle over property dispute.
The deceased has been identified as Sukadev Marandi of Jampani. He was a teacher.
As per reports, a verbal duel erupted between the youth and his uncle today as the latter demanded his share on a house. As Sukadev rejected the demand outrightly the argument escalated further and he took out an axe to hack his uncle to death.
Gorumahisani police rushed to the spot after getting intimation on the killing from the family of the deceased and arrested the accused. Police have detained two other persons who are believed to be involved in the crime. Forensic team is looking for additional evidence at the crime scene.
The body of the deceased has been rushed for an autopsy to a nearby hospital and an investigation is underway.
