Khurda: In a shocking incident, a woman was tied to a pole and mercilessly beaten up for the sake of Rs 3000. The incident occurred in Chuda village in Dabadhuapatna under Bolagarh Police limits here on Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as Kabita Sahoo.
As per reports, Kabita had taken a loan of Rs 3000 from Shantilata and Kumudini who hail from the same village as herself. There was some delay in paying back the amount. Enraged, Shantilata and Kumudini along with their husbands attacked Kabita. The culprits then took her to an electric pole at village end and tied her to it. Then she was mercilessly beaten.

However, a youth named Hulash Sahoo with others from ‘Youth Odisha’ rescued the poor woman who was being been tied and beaten up until then.
The victim has lodged an official complaint with Bolagarh Police. The police have promised to take necessary action against the culprits.
