Bhanjanagar: A woman was killed after a truck hit the bike she was riding pillion near Baunshalundi village under Bhanjanagar police limits in Ganjam district today.
The deceased has been identified as Jagyanseni Swain of Mudulipali village.
As per the report, Jagyanseni was en-route to a nearby village along with her husband in some work in the morning when the mishap took place. The driver of a speeding truck which was heading in the same direction lost control over the wheels and hit the bike from the rear.
Jagyanseni, who slipped off the bike had a head injury and rushed to Bhanjanagar Sub-Divisional Hospital. However, doctors declared her brought dead subsequently.
Police have launched an investigation to trace the absconding truck driver.
