Puri: A woman devotee has allegedly fallen sick after standing in the long queue for hours to enter into Puri Jagannath Temple, said reports. According to reliable reports, the devotee belongs to Ganjam district. It is believed that the devotee felt so asphyxiated that she had to be rushed to the hospital.

The woman was admitted to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) after preliminary treatment. Detailed reports awaited in this regard.

Huge crowd was witnessed in front of Jagannath Temple in Puri on Monday since it was the last Monday of the Holy month of Kartika.

Kartika Masa is a sacred month for the Hindus and begins after Ashwin. In the month of Kartik, starting with Krishna Paksha Pratipada on Sunday, October 29, the important festivals of five-day Diwali, Chhath Puja and Kartik Purnima are also celebrated.

From today onwards, Habishyalis will observe the month of Kartik Brata as per traditions. They will take a dip in various pilgrimage ponds and the sea then they will perform Radhadamodara Puja. They will get the Maha Prasad of Sri Mandir after getting darshan of Lord Jagannath.
