[Watch] Body parts of endangered species including leopard nails seized in Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur: The Forest department busted a wildlife and endangered species article illegal trading racket here in Odisha today and seized body parts of wild animals. One person was caught red handed when trading an article. He has been detained while interrogation is going on.

Police have seized leopard nails, leopard claw, skin of wild dog and ornaments made up of Pangolin scale.

As per reports, the officials of Hirakud Wildlife Division along with Sambalpur Police conducted a joint raid and caught a youth who was working as a middle man to sell a leopard nail in the name of tiger nail.

After getting information about the illegal trade the Forest Department had spread trap to catch the illegal trader.

The Forest Department has not given identity of the youth who was caught red handed during the illegal trade. His interrogation is going on to find out the back link and whether he is involved in any other illegal trade of wildlife articles, DFO of Hirakud Wildlife Division informed.
