Jajpur: A body of an unidentified woman was found lying in the Genguti riverbed near Gopinathpur village under Bairi police limits in Jajpur district.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
Sources said, some local villagers spotted the body in the morning and alerted the police. On being informed the Bairi police reached the spot, sent the body for post-mortem and have started an investigation into the matter.
It is suspected that some unidentified miscreants have killed her and dumped her body on the river-bed.
A wooden plank, gold ornaments and purse of the woman was found near the body. The exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
