Two overloaded school buses seized in Odisha

Keonjhar: Two overloaded school buses were seized in Anandapur sub-division of Odisha’s Keonjhar district today. Ghasipura police reportedly seized the buses based on the direction of School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash, who spotted the buses.

The School and Mass Education Minister, who was passing through the route, noticed the buses when they were ferrying more students than their seating capacity near Talagaon Chhak and stopped the buses, which belong to a private school.

During inspection, the Minister came to know that the buses had a seating capacity of 28 students while there were 35 students inside a bus. Following this, he directed the local police to seize the vehicles and collect fines from them after they drop the students at their homes.
