TRAI launches new TV Channel Selector app, here is all you need to know

Gadget Disk: Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has launched a new TV Channel Selector app keeping in mind the needs of DTH subscribers. Through this app, users will be able to check their DTH / cable subscription as well as get information about the pack being offered. The specialty of this app is that it gives real time data to the user. TRAI said that this app picks up the data of the subscriber through the API from the service provider.

This app made available on Android and iOS

TRAI’s Channel Selector app has been made available on both Android and iOS platforms. To use this app, you must first select the service provider and enter the mobile number, subscriber ID or set-top-box number in it. After this, an OTP will come on the user’s registered number. TRAI has stated that in the event of not having a registered mobile number, the user will be found on the OTP TV screen.

You will get account balance information

You will get information about the subscriber account through this app. Along with this, you will also get to know about the number of bookies and the total channels subscribed by the subscribers along with the individual channels.

Easily select favorite channels

Through this app you can choose your favorite channels. In addition, users can also remove channels that they do not see. According to TRAI, the app is currently working with select DTH operators and multi-system operators including Airtel, D2h, Dish TV, Hathway Digital, Indigital, City Network and Tata Sky etc.
