Bhadrak: A six-year-old boy was killed after being mowed down by a tractor in Karanjadia village under Basudevpur block of Bhadrak district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified Kalia, son of one Abhay Mallick of the same locality.
As per the report, the victim was playing on the road with another minor and his friend namely Anirudh Mallick (5), son of Niranjan Mallick of the same village in the morning when the mishap took place. The driver of a paddy-laden truck which was passing through the road lost control over the wheels and ended up hitting the child duo.
While Kalia died on the spot Anirudh was rushed to Basudevpur Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment by his family members.
Police have seized the tractor involved in the accident and launched a manhunt to nab its absconding driver.
