Staff Crunch, Lack Of Infra Hits Budaguda PHC In Kandhamal

Daringbadi: Vacant post of doctors and poor infrastructure have paralysed the health service in Budaguda Primary Health Centre under Daringbadi block of Kandhamal district.

Despite the State Government spending crores on providing world-class health care facilities to people, conditions at Budaguda PHC are deplorable due to which patients are being the worst sufferer.

The ambulances are lying defunct for the past two years and the health centre is being run by a lone doctor and a pharmacist, who are blaming the authorities for neglecting the PHC by not appointing another doctor for long.

The abysmal state of the health care unit is adding to the woes of 10,000 residents belonging to 5 panchayats in the block.

Meanwhile, village residents have alleged that the doctor and pharmacist who look after the patients are unprofessional and irregular. Despite repeated complaints, no steps were taken by the concerned authorities with regards to the issues plaguing the PHC.

However, the doctor has rubbished the claims of unprofessionalism dubbing the allegation as baseless and untrue.

The health care service in the hospital is worsening day by day. Locals have demanded upgradation of the facilities at the hospital to make available all necessary services to the patients.
