Cuttack: In a shocking incident, a son hacked his mother to death at Kakhadi Bazar Sahi in Athagarh block here on late Sunday. He absconded after the act.
The deceased has been identified as Sabitri Pradhan.
Reportedly, Sabitri and her son Prakash Pradhan had some kind of familial dispute in between them. Sabitri was visiting her parent’s place at Gopinath Pada in Kakhadi panchayat when the arguments intensified.

The arguments enraged Prakash to a point where he hacked his mother.
Sabitri, in a critical state, was rushed to Athagarh hospital where she was ‘declared dead’.
Meanwhile, the killer son Prakash absconded after murdering his mother in cold blood. Local police have begun an investigation into the matter.
