Seven injured in group clash in Adapada of Odisha

 

Berhampur: At least seven people were injured in a group clash when a marriage procession was underway at Adapada village under Hinjili police limits in Ganjam district Friday night. Police said past enmity between two groups was the reason behind the clash.

Eyewitnesses said that both the groups had a heated argument after which they attacked each other with sharp-edged weapons. Most of the injured persons have sustained head injuries in this clash. They were later rushed to the nearest Community Health Centre.

Police personnel from nearby Pattapur police station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. A case has been registered in this connection at the Hinjili police station and investigation has been initiated in this matter.
