Jagatsinghpur: The Odisha Vigilance on Sunday arrested a senior clerk on charges of demanding and accepting bribe. The arrested Senior Clerk has been identified as Pranakrushna Nayak.
According to reports, the anti-corruption team laid a trap based on the complaint lodged against Pranakrushna Nayak, who is working as Senior Clerk at the Office of Tahasildar in Naugaon of Jagatsinghpur district.
Nayak was apprehended while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant to release his sand loaded Tripper.
In this connection, CTC Vig PS Case No 1 Dt.16.01.2022 u/s 7 PC Amd Act has been registered. Further investigation is underway,
Nayak was arrested earlier in CTC Vig. Case No 65 Dt 23.11.16 U/S 7 P.C Act for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 3905 from a complainant to issue a patta. The case has been charge-sheeted and trial is going on.
