Sambalpur: Health of infant rescued from borewell improves; Gets out of ICU after 6 days

The health if the infant, who was rescued from a borewell, has finally shown improvement and gotten out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after six days.

Sambalpur: The infant who was rescued from a borewell, has shown improvement and gotten out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after six days. The new born baby was taken out of the ICU unit after her health showed some improvements.

According to the attending doctors, the infant was fed some milk which got the new born baby’s stomach filled with gas. The doctors said that this type of change in the infant’s condition is normal as the baby has been delivered pre-maturely at 8 months.

According to reports, the infant was found inside a borewell near Rengali in Sambalpur district on December 12, 2023. A rescue operation was initiated by the local authorities and rescue team. The rescue team dug through the soil with JCB to reach the borewell pipe. Then the iron pipe was cut using a machine and the baby was rescued. The new born baby was rushed to the Burla VIMSAR hospital soon after she was rescued. A team of 10 doctors led by VIMSAR superintendent Dr. Lalmohan Nayak treated the bay in the SNCU.
