Samalei project inaugurated by Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik

The much-awaited Samalei project has been inaugurated Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday, said reliable reports in this regard.

Sambalpur: The much-awaited Samalei project has been inaugurated Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday, said reliable reports in this regard. The Samaleswari Temple Area Management and Local Economy Initiatives (SAMALEI) project in Sambalpur has been inaugurated today that is January 27, 2024.

The project stands on a vast land of 40 acres. The morning puja of Maa Samaleswari was done according to regular rituals. The Mahayangya at Maa Samaleswari Temple started at 8.30AM. The yagna place has been decorated as per traditional Samabalpuri pattern.

To maintain law and order during the ceremony, nearly 35 platoon forces including over 150 police officers have been deployed. Selected officers of 11 districts of West Odisha have been deployed for security.

As per the official reports, the CM reached the 12th-century shrine and inaugurated the project on Saturday. The Chief Minister first visited the Goddess and took her blessings. A special pooja shall be performed for the Chief Minister. The authorities have closed public darshan from morning to 2 am.

It is worth mentioning that, the state government has declared a holiday for all schools and colleges in the state. Additionally, due to the fourth Saturday on January 27, all government offices will also remain closed. For the inauguration of the project in Sambalpur, brahmins and saints from various temples have been invited. A total of 30 Pandits performed the yagna today.

It is worth mentioning here that the State government had allocated Rs 200 crore for the beautification and development of the Samaleswari temple under the SAMALEI scheme.
