Kalahandi: Officers of Vigilance Koraput Division on Thursday arrested a Revenue Inspector (RI) in Kalahandi district for taking a bribe of Rs 5000.
Thabira Bhoi, the RI of Tulapada Circle under Narla Tahasil of Kalahandi district was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance Koraput Division while demanding and accepting the bribe through a private person namely Baidyanath Sahoo of Ghodabandha.
The entire bribe money also has been seized, informed sources.
According to reports, Bhoi had demanded the cash from Niranjan Nayak through Baidyanath to prepare sketch map for partition of Ac.16.47 decimal of land stands recorded in the name of grandfather of the complainant.
In this connection, the Koraput Vigilance registered a case under Section 7 of P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018.
Further investigation is underway.
