Railway to recruit 2.2 lakh more employees soon: Piyush Goyal

New Delhi: Responding with a sharp reply to the Opposition parties who continuously allege that the Modi-government at the Centre has failed to create more jobs for youths, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has claimed that around 2.2 lakh more staffs will be inducted into the India Railway.

Goyal in his exclusive interview to Times Now yesterday said, the Indian Railway is in the process of filling up the vacancies being created gradually.

“Around 1.5 lakh personnel will be appointed in next 8-9 months. The appointment process will start very soon,” he added.

Providing further information on his department’s policies Goyal informed that for the first time 10 percent quota provision will be implemented for economically backward section in the general category.

Notably, to ensure transparency in the recruitment process government has taken a decision to introduce a complete computerised process for the examination along with videography of it.

However, Goyal also accepted it that the attraction for government job is gradually fading up among the youths.
