R Balakrishnan appointed as Chief Advisor of Special Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: Retired IAS officer R Balakrishnan has been appointed as Chief Advisor of Special Initiatives of Odisha government at the rank of chief secretary on Thursday.

According to reports, Balakrishnan will look after five areas like special development council, tribal museum, crafts museum, input to heritage cabinet, Odia University and Odia Virtual Academy. This apart he will also look after any other inititative to be notified.

Balakrishnan, who retired as the Development Commissioner on 30th November, declined to take salary and will work on honoary basis. He will report to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directly.
