Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb meets Odisha CM, puts forth 5 proposals

Bhubaneswar: Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb met Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the state Secretariat here and put forth five proposals related to the development of Puri Shree Jagannath Temple. All the proposals were presented by Dibyasingha Deb through a power point presentation.

Sri Mandir Parikrama – a proposal for development works around the temple and renovation of three mathas- Uttara Parswa Matha, Dakhina Parswa MathaEmara Matha were made along with maximum propagation of Jagannath Culture, basing on which all the mathas were made in the town.

The Puri Gajapati emphasised on plans to draw tourists in Gundicha Temple throughout the year which only sees maximum footfall during  the Rath Jatra. The development and beautification of Gundicha Temple with plans to place Pattachitra depicting the tales from Skanda Purana in the Bhitara Bedha of the temple were put forth. Plan to develop the Heritage Garden in Jagannath Ballav Matha with the aim of propagating Jagannath Culture and amenities for tourists were also shown.

Beautification of Bada Danda (Grand Road) for smooth conveyance and development of Atharanala (entry point to Puri town) and restoration of the concerned water body are the other proposals which Dibyasingha Deb put forth before the Chief Minister.

Apart from that two proposals namely Srimandir Adarsha Gurukulam and Housing colony for servitors who perform various daily routines of the deities were also put forth.

Law Minister Pratap Jena and Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty, Chief Administrator of SJTA were among others who attended the meeting.
