Police seize brown sugar worth around Rs 25 lakh in Balasore, 2 arrested
Balasore: Police have seized brown sugar worth around Rs 25 lakh from Jhadeswarpur slum under Jaleswar Police station limits of Odisha’s Balasore district and arrested two persons including a kingpin of the drug business.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Jaleswar Police reportedly conducted a raid and seized 250 grams of brown sugar, the market value of which is assumed to be Rs 25 lakh. They also arrested two persons from the spot.
The arrested persons have been identified as kingpin Tairuddhin and a drug dealer, assumed to be Tairuddhin’s brother.
Sources said that several cases are pending against Tairuddhin at different police stations for running the drug business. He was supplying dugs to several Indian states like West Bengal and Odisha and foreign countries like Dubai and Bangladesh.
