Cuttack: Police have busted an adulterated spices manufacturing unit in Cuttack today and detained the proprietor on the charges of food adulteration.
Acting on a specific input, a team of cops conducted a raid on the spices manufacturing unit situated at Jhinkirai village under the Bailais Mouza police limit of the district and confiscated the stockpile of duplicate spices, said sources.
A huge cache of spurious turmeric powder and other spices were seized during the raid, added the sources.
Cops are interrogating the detained proprietor to get more information about the functioning and marketing of the adulterated spices manufacturing unit.
It is to be noted here that the Twin City Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police have busted several other adulterated food manufacturing units in the district.
