Talcher: In a shocking incident, the Kolleri police in Odisha’s Angul district detained a man on charges of killing his mother by slitting her throat today.
One Julei Biswal of Ghantapada village in the district was watching television in the house. In the meantime, some miscreants entered the house and slit her throat with a sharp weapon living her grievously injured.
Some neighbours rescued Julei after finding her lying in a pool of blood and rushed her to the Nehru Shatabdi Central Hospital in Talcher for treatment. However, the doctor declared her brought dead.
A team of cops from the Kolleri police station initiated a probe after getting information about the crime and seized the body. Suspecting his involvement in the incident, they also detained Julei’s son Manoj Biswal for interrogation.
While the exact reason behind Julei’s death is yet to be ascertained, it is assumed that Manoj killed her for not giving him money.
