Odisha vigilance raid on Revenue Inspector in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Today Meer Md. Khan, Revenue Inspector (R.I.), Bileipada under Barbil Tahasil, of Keonjhar district has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance.
Reports say that he was caught while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty thousand) from a Complainant to submit a verification report in a Mutation Case and for issuance of ROR (Land Patta) in favour of complainant.
The entire bribe money Rs.20,000/- has been recovered from the possession of accused R.I. Meer Md. Khan and seized. Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Meer Md Khan from DA angle.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.01 dt.05.01.2024 U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused R.I Meer Md Khan. Detailed reports awaited in this matter.
