Odisha temperature to rise by 3-5 degrees Celsius

Bhubaneswar: The day temperature in Odisha will rise in by 3-5 degrees Celsius, informed the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

Reportedly, the weather department wrote on its Twitter account “Daytime temperatures are expected to rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in many parts of the state.”

The weather department has further informed that there is a possibility of heatwave in some districts of the state from April 25.

Adding to it, a yellow warning has been issued to nine districts for a thunderstorm with lightning. The nine districts include Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts.

Notably, Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum day temperature of 40.8 degrees Celsius on Friday. Similarly, the mercury touched the 41 degree Celsius mark in Boudh and Paralakhemundi.

As many as seven places in the State witnessed 39 degrees Celsius or above temperature today. They are Angul (39.1), Jharsuguda (39.2), Sundergarh (39), Bhawanipatna (39), Khurda (39.2), Kendrapada (39.2) and Nayagarh (39).
