Odisha Panchayat Polls: Repolling to be held in 45 booths on Feb 23

Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC), Odisha on Saturday informed that repolling for the Odisha Panchayat election will be held in 45 booths on February 23, 2022.

According to the SEC, Odisha the re-election will be held in total of 45 booths where polling was affected due to different reasons including violence, errors in ballot paper folding and other disturbances during the first and second phases of the ongoing Panchayat election.

The polling will begin at 9 AM and will continue till 3 PM, informed the SEC.

The State Election Commission decided to conduct the election in 45 booths once again after getting proposals for the same from the concerned district Collectors.

It is to be noted here that the three-tier panchayat election is being held in five phases – February 16, February 18, February 20, February 22 and February 24, while the counting of votes will take place on February 26, 27 and 28.

The State Election Commission has found out over 2.79 crore people as eligible to exercise their franchise in these rural polls.
