Bhubaneswar: A man jumped into the Kathajodi river near Trisulia under Baranga police limits this evening.
As per reports, the man identified as Debabrata Majhi, a resident of Gadakana area in Bhubaneswar jumped into the river after parking his motorcycle. Majhi also kept his mobile phone near his motorcycle.
Police along with the personnel of Odisha Fire Service have reached the spot and have started a rescue operation. Police said that Majhi was mentally unstable for the past few months.
Earlier on October 9, a man had jumped into Kathajodi river in Cuttack after having an altercation with his wife. The body of Debabrata Mohapatra was found on October 16 from the Devi River near Rahamba under Gobindpur police limits in the district.
