Odisha: Man gets issued mother’s death certificate while she is still alive
Even he showed his younger brother dead in documents to grab his property
Bhubaneswar: In a bizarre incident, a man has got issued the death certificate of his mother, though she is still alive. And this he has reportedly done for property. The incident took place in the Baramunda area under Khandagiri Police limits in the capital city of Odisha.
The accused has been identified as Krushna Chandra Maharana.
As per reports, Krushna Chandra is the son of Sakhi Maharana of Baramunda. He has allegedly made several attempts to kill his old mother.
It has been alleged that though his mother is still alive, Krushna has got issued the death certificate, affidavit, legal heir certificate and a few other documents to prove that his mother is dead, though the woman is still alive. And all this he has allegedly done to get some pieces of land registered in his name.
Besides, Krushna has also taken ownership of the land of his younger brother by showing that he was killed in a road accident in Kolkata. However, the fact is that his younger brother Rushikesh Maharana is alive and he lives in Kolkata.
Moreover, it has also complained that since the younger brother is living out of State, Krushna has taken away his furniture after breaking the lock of Rushikesh’s house.
The old lady Sakhi Maharana and the younger brother Rushikesh Maharana have complained about the matter at the police station and sought justice.
