Bhubaneswar: The 23rd Foundation Day of Odisha’s first ever monthly family magazine ‘Kadambini’ and the 12th Foundation day of Odisha’s premier monthly children magazine ‘Kuni Katha’ was held today at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar.
Odisha Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal graced the occasion as the chief guest while Odisha chapter president of Lokasevak Mandal cum Publisher and Printer of ‘Samaja’ Niranjan Rath graced the occasion as the honourable guest. Among the other dignitaries renowned singer Pranab Pattanayak and VC of KISS University Satya S Tripathy graced the occasion.
On this occasion Kadambini Samman and other Kadambini awards, which had not been given in the last two years due to the pandemic, were given to the respective award winners.
Accordingly, Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal was bestowed with the Kadambini Samman 2022. Similarly, Kadambini Samman 2021 was given to Niranjan Rath while Kadambini Samman 2020 was given to noted singer Pranab Pattnayak.
Each of the winners of Kadambini Samman was given with Rs 50,000 and trophy along with certificate and Uttariya.
On this occasion Pabitra Panigrahi got the Kadambini Galpa Samman 2020, Gangadhar Biswal got the Kadambini Galpa Samman 2021 and Smt. Pallishree Pattanayak got the Kadambini Galpa Samman 2022.
Similaly Nirakar Das was given the Kadambini Kabita Samman 2021 and Smt. Pritidhara Samal was given the Kadambini Kabita Samman 2022. Kadambini Galpa Samman and Kabita Samman carried Rs 10,000 each along with trophy, certificate and Uttariya.
Besides, film actress Anu Choudhury, Mama Mishra, Usashi Mishra and Jyoti Mishra were given the Kadambini Pracchadasilpi Samman 2022. All these awards were given on behalf of the newly formed ‘Kadambini Sahitya Ekademi’.
During the function Odisha Governor launched the ‘Kadambini Sahitya Akademi’ for propagation of Odia language, literature and culture across the world. Besides, Kadambini special edition and July edition of Kunikatha were also launched during the function.
In the beginning of the function founder of Kadambini and Kunikatha MP Dr Achyuta Samanta gave the welcome speech and introduced the guests. Editor of Kadambini and Kunikatha Dr. Iti Samanta offered the vote of thanks and conducted the meeting. Many biggies from different parts of Odisha attended the function.
