Odisha DGP pays tributes to Martyrs, Warriors on Police Commemoration Day 2021

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police today observed the 62nd Police Commemoration Day. The day is dedicated to commemorate the sacrifices made by policemen.

It is noteworthy to mention that, the Police Commemoration Day is observed on 21st October, every year. The day commemorates the sacrifices of ten policemen who lost their lives while defending our borders with China in 1959.

DGP Abhay paid homage to Police martyrs and Covid warriors who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The DGP also conveyed deep condolences to the bereaved family members of the martyred jawans.

The 62nd Police Commemoration Day was observed at the State Police Headquarters in Cuttack and various other district headquarters today.

Tributes are being paid to 24 martyrs this year. The ceremony was attended by all senior IPS officers working with the Police DG.

Policemen sacrifice not only their lives but also their family life for guarding society against threats, and people should be aware of this.

The day has been celebrated across Odisha, few of the details are as follows:

On the occasion of Police Commemoration Day S.K Mohanty, IGP Odisha Sector paid homage to those personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

He remembered the supreme sacrifices of 10 CRPF men who bravely fought Chinese firing in Oct 21, 1959.

On the occasion of the 62nd Police Commemoration Day, Malkangiri Police saluted and paid homage to all the Martyrs and Corona Warriors, who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

On the occasion of the 62nd Police Commemoration Day, Puri Police saluted and paid homage to all the Martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
