Puri: A cobra got trapped in a beer can recently and later it was rescued by the Snake Helpline member. The incident took place in Madhipur village in Balanga area of Puri district in Odisha on Tuesday.
As per reports, family members of Jitendra Mohapatra of Madhipur village heard some unusual sound coming from the backyard of their house. As they tried to find out about the sound it was seen that a cobra had got trapped in a beer can under the bushes. Despite its best effort the reptile could not get out.
Soon they alerted the Snake Helpline members about the cobra. Accordingly, snake helpline member Sushanta Kumar Behera reached the spot and witnessed that a 4 feet long cobra had got trapped in a beer can.
Since it was not possible to cut the can to make the cobra free he took the reptile along with the can and to the Snake Helpline office. Later the beer can was cautiously cut without harming the snake. It took about 20 minutes to make the cobra free. Then antiseptic spray was sprayed on the injured area of the snake and later it was released into the jungle.
