Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik distributes BSKY smart health cards in Bargarh

Bargarh: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited Bargarh district today to launch the distribution of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) Smart Health Card. Reportedly, he also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various developmental projects.

As per the schedule, he left for Bargarh at 10.15 am and by 11 am he arrived at Satibhata airstrip under Padmapur tehsil following which he moved towards the event place by 12 pm by his helicopter. All the necessary preparations were made at Bijepur stadium for chief minister’s arrival. A 18-platoon police force was deployed in view of the Chief Minister’s visit today.

As many as 3,63,000 beneficiaries of Bargarh were provided with the BSKY Smart Health Cards during this event. Various developmental projects worth Rs 295 crore will be inaugurated and foundation stones were laid by CM Naveen Patnaik.

CM Naveen Patanik also inaugurated 71 smart schools that have been transformed under 5T initiative. Later, the cards were distributed to beneficiaries in 12 blocks and panchayats of the district.

The entire program was held in the presence of limited guests following strict Covid protocols. The RTPCR test has been made mandatory for all the people who will attend the meeting including beneficiaries, media representatives, police and the officials of district administration.

Earlier CM Patnaik had also visited Kalahandi, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj to distribute the same. Prior to that on October 4 he distributed the health cards in Deogarh in a virtual mode, on September 22 in Titlagarh. He also laid the foundation stone for development of Harishankar Temple at Patnagarh. The smart health card was launched in Malkangiri on August 20 and Sundergarh on September 14.

On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, the Chief Minister had announced to provide Smart Health Cards to 3.5 crore people in the State under BSKY. The BSKY smart health card will entitle the beneficiaries’ free treatment at all Government hospitals of the state and more than 200 private hospitals of the state and outside.

Each family can avail treatment benefits up to Rs 5 lakh per annum under the scheme and in case of women family members, the limit is Rs 10 lakh.
