Odisha CM inaugurates 59 projects under Parbati Giri Mega Lift Irrigation project

With this 80 thousand hectare land in 13 district of Odisha to get irrigated. Farmers are the biggest server of the country, said CM

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated 59 projects under the Parbati Giri Mega Lift Irrigation project.

Through this, 80 thousand hectares of land got irrigation facility. For this, Rs 2,500 crore has been spent. Along with this, the Chief Minister has also laid the foundation stone for 33 mega lift project. After completion of all these projects, 55 thousand hectares of land in 9 districts can get irrigation facilities.

While participating in the program through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said that our farmer brothers are the best servants of the country. They are the backbone of our economy. Their sacrifice and hard work have brought much glory to the state.

The Chief Minister said that he is meeting farmers every day at his home and is also discussing various issues with them. The Chief Minister expressed his happiness by revealing that farmers are involved in various schemes of the Government.

Throwing light on various schemes being implemented by the state government for farmers, the Chief Minister said that the agricultural budget of the state government has increased by 3 times in 5 years and has now reached Rs 25 thousand crores. He said that the Kalia scheme has proved to be very beneficial for farmers. The state government has spent Rs. 600 crores towards the crop insurance of farmers. Similarly, loans up to Rs 1 lakh are also given without interest.
