Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated ace sprinters Dutee Chand and Jauna Murmu on their success at the ongoing 23rd Federation Cup National Senior Athletic Championships at Patiala in Punjab on Saturday.
Chand clinched the yellow metal by clocking 23.35 seconds in the running event. Tamil Nadu’s Ranathi V and Dhanalaxmi S pocketed the silver and bronze medals respectively. While Ranathi finished the 200-metre race with a timing of 23.80, Dhanalaxmi registered a timing of 24.05 seconds.
Likewise, another Odia sprinter Jauna Murmu also finished the 400-metre hurdles on the podium. She won a bronze medal by clocking 57.58 seconds. Murmu’s competitors Saritaben Gayakwad of Gujarat and Arpitham of Karnataka won the gold and silver medal by clocking 57.21 and 57.45 seconds respectively.
