Odisha CM condoles death of former CEC TN Seshan
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday condoled the demise of former Chief Election Commissioner TN Seshan, who passed away in Chennai last night. He was 86.

A 1955 batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, Seshan had led the Election Commission from 1990 to 1996. He was known for ushering in reforms to ensure free and fair elections in the country. His electoral reforms include enforcement of Model Code of Conduct, issuance of Voter IDs etc.
Seshan was conferred the Magsaysay Prize for Public Service in 1996.
