Odisha Cabinet approves tender of Rs 160 Cr for Baramunda ISBT

Bhubaneswar: With a view to provide more convenient and easy transfer experiences to the passengers in the capital city, the State cabinet on Thursday approved a tender of Rs 160 crore for construction of a modern Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Baramunda and a bus depot at Khandagiri on EPC mode here in Odisha.

Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) is entrusted with the development of the project on EPC mode on the basis of a transparent bidding process.

M/s Bridge and Roof Company India Limited, a Government of India undertaking has become the preferred bidder being LI with negotiating the offer of Rs 160,66,54,000 exclusive of taxes which is approved by the Cabinet for acceptance of the offer of the LI bidder, said an official release.

The completion period of the project is 24 months along with maintenance for 5 years and 5 years of defect liability period, it added.

in the proposed ISBT, the terminal space and the commercial Space will cover 1,31,713 Sq.ft   and    1,70,912 Sq.ft  respectively. A total of 35 bus bays will be constructed in which 190 idle buses can be parked.

Besides, the ISBT will also have a public parking space for more than 250 four-wheelers and about 175 two-wheelers.
