Odisha: Boatman drowns to death after falling from boat in Chilika

Khurda: In a tragic incident, a boatman drowned in Chilika Lake on Friday after falling from the boat.

The deceased has been identified as 33 year old Muna Duhudi, a resident of Samantarayapur under Balugaon police limits of Khordha district.

As per reports, as usual Muna went to Chilika today on his boat. However, after sometime due to some reason, which is not known yet, he slipped off the boat and fell in the water.

After getting information about it, fire fighters from Balugaon rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operation. Within some time they traced out the body of the boatman and fished it out of the water. His body was sent to Balugaon hospital for autopsy.
