A 12-hour curfew has been observed in Rayagada on Friday in connection with the murder of ma gruha manager.

BJP in association with District Adivasi Maha Sangh has called for the bandh. The district has been closed from 6 am to 6 pm demanding the arrest of the accused.

As a result, public and private bus services have been stopped in Rayagada district. By this the passage is obstructed. It is worth mentioning that, a six-hour shutdown was called in Rayagada district by the BJP women’s front on December 28.

According to reports, the manager of Ma Gruha in Rayagada district of Odisha had been murdered on December 22. The manger had been identified as Lakshmi Majhi. She was the manager of the Ma Gruha in Chandrapur of Rayagada district.

What was more shocking is that the half-burnt body of Lakshmi was recovered under mysterious circumstances. Lakshmi was a resident of Naktiguda village of Kashipur block of Rayagada district, said reports. She was a divyang, said reports.

But questions have been raised as to how her body caught fire? Was it an accident or a cold-blooded murder? The exact cause of death remains unclear. Her family has however alleged that she was killed.
