Bhubaneswar: Founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samanta was conferred with the “Ananya Samman” for his contribution to social work.
Union Ministers Prahlad Singh Patel and Anupriya Patel presented the “Ananya Samman” to Achyuta Samanta at an event in New Delhi. The award was given by Zee Hindustan.
Apart from the Kandhamal MP, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, President of Paralympic India Dr Deepa Mallik, AIIMS New Delhi Director Dr Randeep Guleria and Olympian Karnam Malleswari also were given the award.
Meanwhile, taking to his Twitter handle, Samanta thanked Zee Media for the award and congratulated to other awardees.
“Thanks to Zee Media for inspiring us by conferring this award. We will continue to work with full spirit!,” he said.
