Maoist posters threatening contractors surface in Kandhamal

Phulbani: Unleashing Red-fear after a few days lull, Maoists put up posters in Dimiripalli village under Raikia police limits in Kandhamal district on Thursday.

The incident came to fore after some locals from Ranaba area spotted the posters early in the morning and called up the police to inform.

Pasted on some roadside walls the posters heavily criticized some Contractors namely, Kalu, Bhima and Prashna Gouda of Phulbani for using Maoists’ names for business deals and threatened to execute them in ‘Kangaroo’ court. They warned Uttam Sahu of Gajalbadi and Bhikal Behera of Asurabandha of Ganjam district also under the same allegation.

The posters also mentioned about two others namely Ramachandra and Ramahari and warned them of dire consequences for their involvement in land fraud.

Police have rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation and examine the authenticity of the posters.
