The police conducted an investigation based on the complaint and have arrested an accused and and forwarded him to the court. It is to be noted that while the complainant and the accused were working together in a parlor in Bhubaneswar, both of them used to love each other.
The accused approached the complainant with a false promise of marriage. A few days later, after learning that the accused was a drunkard and taking all kinds of drugs, the complainant tried to keep a distance from him. The accused then came to the complainant’s house and assaulted her.
As the complainant’s mother prevented the accused from coming to her house, the accused also assaulted her. The accused had previously taken some offensive photos of the complainant and threatened to release them all on social media.
As the complainant requested not to do so, the accused said to delete all the objectionable photos of her he demanded two lakh rupees. After the complainant paid Rs. 1.5 lakh to the accused, he took her to Hyderabad without deleting any of the photos.
After that they stayed in a house, the accused started torturing her. A few days later, when both of them returned to Bhubaneswar, the ma abandoned the woman at Master Canteen Street and escaped.
After the complainant filed a written complaint at the Laxmisagar police station, the police investigated the case and arrested the accused and brought him to the police station. The accused has been identified as Santunu Barik a resident of Abhayapur, under Patkura police station in Kendrapada district. Present address being Laxmisagar Upar sahi PS- Laxmisagar, Dist- Khurdha, Bhubaneswar.
During the interrogation, the accused confessed his crime. Now further investigation in this case is underway. Detailed reports awaited in this case.
