Baripada: In a success to Mayurbhanj Police in the investigation in ‘divyang’ girl kidnap and rape case which took place Kathachua area under Surat police limits a few days back, it arrested the main accused today.
Identified as Surat Singh Badara of Dhapada village the accused was taken into custody from his home.
Notably, on July 31 Surat kidnapped the victim, a 26-year-old differently-abled girl from her home while she was asleep and took to a nearby forested area to outrage the modesty. Later the girl’s family found her lying unconscious in the forest and rescued.
Sarat Police swung into action after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint to it on August 3.
After raids at multiple places, the accused was taken into custody.
