Bhubaneswar: Mahashivarathri 2024 will be observed in Lord Shiva temples across Odisha tomorrow. Accordingly, preparations are underway in the shrines for hassle-free execution of the rituals, management and crowd control.
Various Shaivite Peeths of the state are preparing for Jagar Yatra. The famous Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar has been decorated with ornate lights.
In a meeting yesterday, discussions held over how to execute all the scheduled rituals in a timely manner. Discussions have been held with the servitors so that there is no delay in raising the Mahadeepa.
Security has been tightened to prevent any untoward situation. On the other hand, Bhajan ceremony will be organized by the Ekamar Prakashni where Bollywood singers including Anuradha Podwal will perform.
Extensive arrangements have been made by the administration in view of the large gathering of devotees. Barricades have been arranged for orderly darshan by the devotees.
On this occasion reportedly, as many as 22 platoon police force will be deployed. In addition, more than 70 senior police officers will guard the crowded area outside the temple.
Security will be tightened at various sensitive places while lady cops will be deployed at the sanctum sanctorum (Garbhagruha) of the temple.
Plainclothes policemen will be patrolling to keep an eye on the looters. Also, traffic control will be in focus. The temple administration has said that Mahadeep Darshan will be held at 10:00 pm. Devotees can visit Sahan Mela darshan at the temple from 3:30 am to 10:30 am.
