Bhadrak: The much awaited ritual of raising the Mahadeepa atop the temple on Maha Shivaratri was completed at 4.10 am today at the famous Baba Akhandalamani temple in Bhadrak district Of Odisha.
According to reports, the Mahadeepa was lifted atop the temple in the presence of a handful of devotees due to the strict restrictions by the administration.
The rituals were conducted in accordance to the scheduled time.
Lakhs of devotees were deprived from witnessing the Sunabesa ritual due to the curfew that began at 1.30 am on Friday. Only devotees from four panchayats along with the sevayats were allowed inside the temple during the rituals.
