K. Nuagaon Forest Range Officer under vigilance scanner

Kandhamal: Odisha Vigilance conducted a raid on properties associated with the Forest Range Officer of K. Nuagaon in Kandhamal district on Thursday morning on the allegation of accumulation of disproportionate assets.

The Forest Range Officer has been identified as Bairagi Charan Behera.

Simultaneous searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance led by 04 DSPs , 07 Inspectors, and other staff.

Based on a piece of reliable information, the vigilance sleuths have conducted raids at seven places in Ganjam, Kandhamal, and Boudh district on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani.

1. Govt. quarter of Behera located at K. Nuagaon in Kandhamal.

2. Forest Range office of the Behera located at K. Nuagaon.

3. Residential building of Behera located at Landeisahi, Bhanjanagar.

4. Firm house of Behera located at Dadaralunda under Bhanjanagar police limits.

5. His residential house located at Bhutapalli, Boudh.

6. Residential house of 2 relatives of Behera located at Luduludi under Gangapur police limits in Ganjam

During house searches so far, the following assets worth approx 1.05 Crore have been unearthed;

1) One double storeyed building at Landeisahi, Bhanjanagar, Dist-Ganjam.

2) One single storeyed building at Butupali, Boudh town.

3) Poultry Farm with asbestos roof at Dadaralunda, PS-Bhanjanagar, DistGanjam.

4) 4 plots including 2 plots under Ghumusar (Bhanjanagar) Tahasil, 1 plot in Ankuli, Berhampur and another plot in Boudh town.

5) Bank and other deposits worth over Rs.8.5 lakh.

6) Insurance deposits worth over Rs.9.42 lakh.

7) Gold & silver ornaments worth over Rs.5.65 lakh.

8) Household articles worth over Rs.5.83 lakh.

9) 1 two wheeler, cash and other movable and immovable properties.

Further investigation regarding the vigilance raid is underway and details are awaited.
