Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMC) Regional Centre here has issued a thunderstorm and lightning alert for at least seven districts of Odisha today.
As per the latest Nowcast of the MeT Department districts like Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput, Rayagada, Khordha and Nayagarh are likely to experience moderate thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by one or two spells of intense rainfall at one or two places between 11.00 am and 2.00 pm today.
As a precautionary measure people in these districts have been cautioned against venturing out of their homes during the extreme weather condition to avoid any kind of eventuality.
