Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre here has issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for at least 10 districts of Odisha today till 2 pm.
As per the latest Nowcast issued by the MeT office, districts like Sundergarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Jajpur districts will witness the change in weather.
“Latest satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind at one or two places and light to moderate rain is very likely to occur at some parts of 10 districts between 10 am to 2 pm,” read the bulletin issued this morning.
People in the alerted districts have been cautioned not to venture out of their homes till 2 pm and advised to take shelter in safe places to avoid any eventuality.
